A Court of Thorns and Roses Original Painting
Original hand-painted illustration inspired by the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. This unique folding panel includes two paintings - on the outside, you’ll find the wolf in the snowy woods from the beginning of the series, but when you open it to reveal the inside, you’ll see Velaris, the City of Starlight. I wanted the painting to feel like the viewer had stepped into the story to explore the city, so the view shows the iconic mountain and stars from the brightly lit streets.
Painted with acrylic gouache on a birch panel.
Finished with satin varnish for a gentle glow, this piece measures approximately 9x12x1” when closed and 18×12×0.5” when open.
The painting has a keyhole cutout in the back so it can be hung on the wall using a nail. Please note, when hanging on a wall, the folding pieces may not sit completely closed, but instead hang slightly apart, inviting the viewer to open the panel and discover the second painting. It can also be displayed standing up on a shelf, and would make a delightful addition to a bookshelf or reading nook.
